Ride Vermont catches up with Devin at Killington.

We know what you’re thinking… This is Devin Logan, she’s a skier, not a rider. What gives? Well for starters, the fact that Ms. Logan is one of the sickest female skiers in the sport and oh yeah, the fact that she hails from a little hill down the road called Mount Snow. Maybe you’ve heard of it.

Ride Vermont was lucky enough to catch up with Devin just seconds after she stepped off the podium with her first (of what later became two) silver medals from the Dew Tour at Killington. One in pipe, one in slopestyle. Badass.

But enough from us. Let’s let Devin do the rest of the talking.

In a crowd- and judge-pleasing explosion of huge tricks that included a double cork 1260, into back to back 1080s, Iouri Podladtchikov managed to unseat the reigning champ Louie Vito in his final run down the 22′ superpipe. With the crowd on fire, Vito came through with an equally massive run of double corks down the pipe, but it wasn’t enough to win the judges over.

This was I-Pod’s first Winter Dew Tour Superpipe win, so needles to say, he was pretty stoked.

And what kind of Vermonters would we be without giving a special shout out to miss Devin Logan, representing the 802 and taking home a second Dew Tour trophy for second in Women’s Freeski Slopestyle. Great job Devin and good luck in Snowbasin.

In case you didn’t see the Ski Superpipe Finals last night, it was a pretty epic showing. (And coming from snowboarders, that’s saying something.) After Eric Willett killed it on the Men’s Slopestyle Finals, Vermont’s own twin-plankin’ pro Devin Logan went on to take a close second place behind Tahoe’s Maddie Bowman in Women’s Ski pipe. We had the pleasure of interviewing Devin after she stepped off the podium. Stay tuned for that interview as the ladies dominate our blog all next week. (We’re pretty stoked for a little domination, who wouldn’t be.)

The night rounded out with a session of high-flying excitement from the Men’s division. But you knew that because you watched it live on NBC or at least backed it up on the DVR. Here’s the low down from the podiums.

Breck-based shredder Eric Willett crushed it today at the Men’s Slopestyle Finals with a series of insanely big doubles on each of the three 60-70 foot booters on the course at Bear Mountain, Killington.

Up top, in the street-styled rail section, Eric laid down smooth front 270s on both down rails, gapping onto the second and off the cannon a front board switchout.

We caught up with Eric in his post-win high to get a rider’s perspective on the east coast Dew stop.

Instead of boring you to death with a bunch of ranking stats and leaderboard numbers (sorry math nerds), we thought we’d just post up some of the highlights from yesterday’s Semi-Final rounds at the Dew Tour in Killington.

High winds put the Men’s Ski Slopestyle semi’s on hold and they’ll be wrapping up this morning before the the guys start calling their drops in the slopestyle course ’round 11:30. Ok, they don’t actually call drops. The Dew Tour’s more organized than that and would probably make a big stink if they went out of turn. Who knows.

Despite the fact we won’t be seeing our favorite shredding Betties kill it next weekend, like we know they would, a top-notch roster of athletes for the Dew Tour at Killington has just been announced including Vermont-natives Benji Farrow, Devin Logan, and the brothers Mitrani, to name a few.

Here’s the list of pro riders due to grace the slopes of Vermont. So grab a spot close to the fence and don’t forget your Sharpie. FANDOM TIP #76: We can tell you right now Scott Lago isn’t gonna sign your hairy back, trust us, we’ve tried. So just bring a blank t-shirt or something to coat in star-studded scribbles.

Look out a window. Any window. We don’t have to remind you what a slow season it’s been, far as natural snowfall is concerned. And with the Dew Tour coming to Killington in less than two weeks, the thought on everyone’s mind is “Will they be ready?”

To ease the stress cases out there, us included, Ride Vermont caught up with Sarah Thorson, K-Town’s own Communications Manager to get the skinny on mountain prep. You can always count on Sarah knowing the score and just like we expected, five minutes on the phone with her and our heart rates were back to normal and the perspiring had all but ceased. Here’s the word.

“Killington Resort is thrilled to host the largest on-snow event in the East and we’ve committed to provide the highest quality of snow for the upcoming event. These low temperatures have allowed our snowmakers to pile up the snow for the Superpipe and Slopestyle course at Bear Mountain and things are looking fantastic. It’s been a rough start for snowmaking, but as long as the temps are there, we are not stopping. We’re looking forward to having the best freeskiers and snowboarders from around the world compete at Killington Resort in the second stop of the Winter Dew Tour.”

Here comes the Dew Tour.

Shaun White. Louie Vito. I-Pod. Torstein Horgmo. All the biggest names in the snowboard contest scene are in the pipe and on the slopestyle course at Killington, Vermont, January 19 – 22, for the second stop of the Winter Dew Tour.

Why should you go? Cause it’s free, first of all. But this is also your chance to see Olympic-caliber athletes in Vermont, not only in competition but also milling about the base area and hanging out signing autographs.

If you get there early and score a prime against-the-fence viewing spot on the deck of the halfpipe, you’ll be so close to the competitors you could almost reach out and touch them. Then, afterward, you actually will be close enough to reach out and touch them (We don’t recommend that, though. It’s creepy. Just be normal and get a high five or something).
